"The three Workout Garments"
Giovanni Maccarone

Overall for him

Overall/jumpsuit for her

Suit jacket and Bemuda shorts

The three proposals speak about a new stylistic code and a Re-Code project. He aims to bring back the graphism of the barcode, which he presents on the gold edge of the suits and on the back of the jacket. A new code for getting the best out of workwear and fashion: the length of the first and the attractiveness of the second.

Work Out is a metaphorical shift from workwear to fashion.

Some steps were useful to change the face of the iconic suits by Mario De Cecco: the trousers shortened below the knee, the front zipper was embellished with gold decoration, and the shoulders with gold buttons. The oversized fit and urban style brings the viewer straight into the great metropolitan city that the artist has in his mind.

Unlike the overall, the jacket and pants undergo a real makeover: from blue to black, and the pants are transformed into Bermuda shorts - just on these Giovanni says:

“Modeling was the difficult part due to the fit of an industrialized garment. For this reason, I disassembled and reassembled with a mix and match between cotton Massawa and Prince of Wales."

The result is personal and unique.

“I chose the Prince of Wales to represent the classic sartorial fabric and make the encounter clash
with the rude cotton of the historic workwear even more visible.”

with the rude cotton of the historic workwear even more visible.”

Sometimes it is the elegance of certain details which is more revolutionary than some more radical style choices. And it is immediately clear what motivates the artist:

"When they ask me for a job, it’s natural for me to go beyond the application itself and offer an alternative vision that can illuminate a different perspective."
